When you choose to adopt a rescue dog, you are giving an animal a chance to experience stability and love after a difficult past. That can be especially meaningful for senior pups who may be overlooked because of their age or health needs. A recent video shared by @aboutmomoandfig gives you a glimpse into a home where several such dogs have finally been chosen.

Adopted rescue dogs who were once unwanted or overlooked now share a loving home

For Jane, giving rescue dogs a home means making room for the ones that may not be the first choice. Through her @aboutmomoandfig account on Instagram, she shares her everyday life with the dogs she has welcomed into her family. The account’s bio describes her as someone who loves “her dogs & her life.” It also makes her approach to adoption clear with the words, “Adopting rescues no one wanted.”

In a recent video, Jane gives viewers a POV of what it looks like to “adopt the dogs no one wanted.” The footage shows the dogs at home, offering a glimpse into their lives after finding a place of their own. Once overlooked, the dogs are now surrounded by someone who has chosen to love them.

Some of the dogs in the clip appear to be older and show signs of health problems. That can make them more difficult to adopt, as older dogs may need additional veterinary attention, medication, and adjustments to their daily routines. Their needs can also require an adopter to be more patient and prepared for the responsibilities that come with caring for an aging pet.

For these dogs, however, those challenges do not define their lives in Jane’s home. They now have a person who is willing to care for them and accommodate their needs.

If you are considering getting a dog, adoption can be a meaningful way to give an animal another chance. But before bringing one home, make sure you can realistically handle the time, financial costs, training, and veterinary care it may require. It is also worth considering dogs that are older or have been overlooked, rather than focusing only on puppies.
