This means it is time for a very teary goodbye in a new video. She acted as his guide and safe space to prepare him for the real world after he was abandoned. This pup arrived in her Los Angeles home needing to learn the ropes of living indoors, but he is now ready to trade the California sun for a life in Minnesota. His new dad actually drove across the country just to pick him up.

The car ride starts with Monica looking pretty emotional in the front seat. Her voice almost cracks as she tells the camera they are dropping Roman off. He and his foster sibling, Roxy, sit quietly in the back while looking around. The latter even puts a supportive paw over Roman during the drive. They have no idea that their time together is ending today.
Monica struggles to keep it together while they drive. She confesses that she really cannot do this as they get closer to the destination. After all, it was she who previously helped Roman learn how to navigate life inside a real home after his rough start. Letting him go is incredibly hard because she spent so much time on his training.
Then they finally meet the new dad in the parking lot. It is basically love at first sight for the pair. The dad bends down, and Roman looks up at his face with so much affection. He gives the rescue dog some gentle neck scritches while Monica watches from a distance in awe.
The new owner tells Roman that he is going to be just fine. Monica smiles through her tears in the video while her foster mom instincts take over. She says goodbye and heads back to her car after the handoff. Five minutes later, she is completely losing it. She cries and says she wants him back immediately.
