The video shows how quickly this shelter dog went from having a home to waiting behind kennel bars. Yet, his expression makes it easy to understand why so many people want someone to help him now.

The volunteer starts the video by walking through the shelter to meet Midnight, describing him as the “saddest looking dog” there. He is sitting quietly inside his kennel when she approaches. Midnight looks up at the camera, but there is no excitement in his face. He seems unsure of what is happening and keeps staring back.
That’s when his story comes into view. A photo shows Midnight tied outside the shelter with some food and a handwritten note. The person who left him wrote that his name was Midnight and asked whoever found him to give him a good life. The note also admitted, “I’m just a bad owner,” before explaining that the writer believed Midnight could die if he stayed with them.
That is a lot for a dog to lose at once. Midnight is about 55 pounds and is described as an easygoing boy. He reportedly walks well on a leash, is non-reactive around other dogs, and is comfortable being handled.
He is also believed to be potty trained. According to the post, he seems happiest finding a shady spot and spending quiet time with someone. His skin and coat need some attention, but what he needs most is a safe place to settle.
The video has picked up more than 6,500 likes in less than 24 hours, and viewers are already asking about him. One person wondered how anyone could leave such a sweet dog behind. Another asked whether Midnight was still available and said they were willing to drive from North Carolina. He is available for adoption, foster, or rescue through Fulton County Animal Services.
