If you thought staying beside a baby was enough for a protective dog, Bosco seems to have a different idea. The family dog appears determined to do more than simply keep the baby company. He repeatedly positions his paws in front of her as though he is standing guard. A video shared on Instagram captures several of these moments, giving viewers a glimpse of the unusual but adorable role he has taken on.

A video shared by @bosco.and.the.fam shows Bosco, the family dog, taking his role as the baby’s protector very seriously. The clip begins with the text, “Just a dog who decided protecting the baby was his responsibility,” before cutting to a series of moments that show just how closely he keeps an eye on the little girl.

In several clips, Bosco can be seen positioning himself near the baby and repeatedly placing his paws in front of her. His actions make it seem as though he is instinctively guarding her, as if he has decided that nothing should come too close without his approval.

The dog takes his apparent security duties a step further in another moment, when he places his paw on the baby as she sits nearby. Rather than simply lounging beside her, Bosco seems determined to have some physical contact with the child.

Another particularly sweet moment shows Bosco resting his head on the baby’s hand. The interaction is much gentler than his seemingly serious guarding routine, but it still shows how comfortable he is around the child. Across the montage, his behavior gives the impression of a dog who has made staying close to the baby part of his daily responsibilities.

The post’s caption, “Head of security since day 1,” perfectly sums up the role Bosco appears to have given himself. His protective behavior also caught the attention of viewers, who shared their own reactions in the comments.

“He runs a tight program,” one person wrote, while another said, “His instinct and intuition is beyond our understanding.” Someone else described Bosco as a “gentle yet strict brother who takes safety very seriously.” And as one viewer rightly summed up our collective feelings, “Humanity doesn’t deserve dogs.”
