That’s exactly what happened in a heartwarming video starring Fig, a rescued pup whose expressive face and ever-changing ears stole thousands of hearts as she listened intently to her owner talk about heading off to work. The sweet clip follows what feels like a one-sided conversation, but Fig’s reactions make it seem as though she’s hanging onto every single word. The video opens with Fig lying comfortably in a cozy dog bed, wrapped in blankets and wearing a floral bandana. Looking directly at her owner, the rescue dog appears ready to hear an important announcement.
“I have to tell you something,” the on-screen text begins. The owner then jokingly delivers the news. “I don’t want to go to work today.” As the conversation continues, the owner lists everything they’d rather be doing together instead of leaving for work. “I want to stay with you all day long. I want to cuddle with you on the sofa.” Not just that, it continued with, “I want to play with you. I want to give you treats.”
After promising a day filled with cuddles, games, and treats, the owner reluctantly admits reality. “I have to go to work.” “I’m really sorry that I have to leave again.” The owner quickly reminds Fig that tomorrow is Saturday, meaning they’ll finally get to stay home together. “Maybe someday I’ll stay home… like tomorrow.
