At 15, Hercules just knows (and expects) that a walk should come with proper seating, and no unnecessary effort. And the video from @hercules_n_jax shows the senior Dachshund’s wagon ride that suits him perfectly. He is set up with a bed and a fluffy blanket, and he settles in for a slow trip around the neighborhood while his family does the walking.
The senior dog looks straight ahead at first, then starts taking in everything around him. A little later, his nose goes up too. There are plenty of smells to investigate, even if his legs aren’t doing the work.

Hercules spends some of the ride looking ahead, then turns his attention to whatever is happening around him. And when a good smell comes along, that little snout goes straight into the air. That part matters.
Getting older can mean some dogs move more slowly or need help getting around, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they stop enjoying their usual outings. New smells, fresh air, familiar streets, and time outside can still be worth getting excited about. Sometimes the way they enjoy those things just needs to change.
Hercules’ family seems to have figured that part out. His owner writes, “At 15 Hercules is living his absolute best life. Wagoned around everywhere, hot weather almost every day, always has a blanket. What more could he ask for?” Nearly 1,000 people have liked the video, and the comments are full of people cheering Hercules on.
One viewer praised the family for helping a senior dog keep exploring, pointing out that it can take more work but older dogs have earned that extra comfort. Another put it even more simply: “At this age he gets whatever he wants!!!” The wagon ride lets this senior Dachshund keep getting outside without asking his older legs to do more than they can comfortably manage.
