A shelter dog had recently been surrendered and appeared visibly unsettled as it seemed to cry in the kennel. A volunteer sat with him, offering affection and reassurance as Bear moved around the small space, staying close to her. The interaction was captured on video and shared by the Benton Franklin Humane Society in Kennewick, Washington, where Bear is currently available for adoption.

The video introduces Bear, a Siberian Husky who had recently been surrendered and was struggling to adjust. His surrender information lists pregnancy as the reason he was given up, while another note highlights something important about his personality.

Bear is afraid of being left alone. Without his family around, Bear suddenly found himself in an unfamiliar shelter. He seems to look for comfort from a volunteer who stays with him, gives him attention, and helps him feel safe.

At one point, the video says Bear sounds like he is crying “mama” and “I want one.” The moment gives viewers a sweet glimpse of Bear’s personality and his hope of finding a loving family. The volunteer sits with Bear inside his kennel instead of leaving him alone.

She pets him, talks to him, and stays nearby while he moves around. Bear’s profile also says he feels less anxious when he is around other dogs. The shelter says he can live with other dogs and that he also loves cats. He also knows several basic commands, including “come,” “leave it,” “sit,” “up,” “down,” and “enough.”

The video quickly drew reactions from viewers, with many focusing on Bear’s fear of being alone and his need for companionship. “Pregnancy is not a reason to surrender a dog,” one user wrote. Another viewer pointed out the difficult situation, commenting, “Afraid of being left alone, so they proceed to leave him alone.” “Poor Bear. My heart breaks for him!!” one person wrote.
