An Instagram video shows an “overlooked” shelter dog waiting for someone to choose her. Named Almond Joy, the 2-year-old puppy has almost lost her eyesight, which makes her life even more difficult at the kennel. She gets startled by “sudden movements, unexpected touches, or loud noises.” Despite the struggles, the pooch is affectionate and sweet, but still invisible to people who walk past her. Once she trusts a person, Almond Joy cherishes them and just wants to be close to feel safe. Meanwhile, viewers have shown their support in the comments, calling the dog “sweet” and a “beauty.”

In a heartbreaking dog video on Instagram, a shelter dog has been “overlooked” in the kennel but is still waiting for a forever home. The clip begins with on-screen text stating that Almond Joy is easily “startled.” According to the caption, she “can’t see very well”; therefore, sudden movements, touch, and loud noises scare her.

Furthermore, the uploader urges people to pay attention to the 2-year-old pooch. She was a stray who struggled with her vision. For the past two months, the fur baby has seen her fellow dogs being chosen, but she has been “overlooked.” Despite the ups and downs, Almond Joy remains affectionate and gentle.

Although the pooch gets startled, she gives all her love to the person if she feels safer with them. The caption states that Almond Joy “doesn’t need a perfect home” but a “patient heart.” It further states, “A family willing to move a little slower, speak a little softer, and give her the time she needs to realize she’s finally safe.”

Meanwhile, the shelter dog video shows the fur baby barking and stepping back when the volunteers approach her. But, slowly, she opens up to the woman and starts trusting her. In the clip, Almond Joy showers the human with love, melting viewers’ hearts. Since the upload, the post has garnered over 900 likes as of this writing.
