This dog mom already suspected there was some funny business happening in the garden, so she started filming when she spotted Kismet heading away from that direction. She followed the rescue dog around the patio and toward the garden, laughing as Kismet stopped, turned around, and revealed exactly what she had been up to.
In the video shared by @titusandhailey, Kismet is carrying a freshly picked green pepper in her mouth, leaves and twig still attached. Her mom calls her inside, and Kismet obediently brings her latest find along, looking a little sheepish but still very pleased with herself.
Dog’s garden thefts end with an unexpected vegetable delivery
When her mom calls her, Kismet walks into the house as if nothing unusual has happened. The dog mom follows her around the couch, still laughing and asking, “Are you kidding me right now?”
The answer is sitting right there in Kismet’s mouth. It is a fresh green pepper, complete with the leaves and little twig still attached. Her mom asks what Kismet has done, while the pup lowers her head and wags her tail.
Then her mom tries to retrieve the evidence. “Can I see?” Kismet doesn’t seem particularly interested in handing it over, but her mom eventually gets hold of the pepper and pulls it free. “Let go of this perfect pepper.” She turns it toward the camera. There are a few bite marks, but otherwise, it looks like a perfectly good harvest.
Kismet sits down right where she was standing, watching closely as her mom examines her loot. “Wow, you are a veggie thief,” her mom tells her. Except this isn’t exactly the first vegetable Kismet has brought home. The caption explains that she has previously carried home cucumbers and tomatoes too. Now there is a pepper to add to the collection.
At that point, “stealing garden vegetables” starts sounding less accurate. Kismet seems to be doing the harvesting and bringing everything straight to her mom. The video has collected more than 3,200 likes, and viewers have already given the pup plenty of credit for her gardening skills.
One person said she was simply letting her mom know the pepper was ready to harvest. Another called her a “perfect little harvest helper.” One viewer had an even simpler response: “I am vegan Mommy.”
