The high-contrast Winnie the Pooh book has been placed exactly where it needs to be for tummy time. Fyn, however, has other ideas about what the baby should be looking at. The Border Collie is stretched out just behind the book, wriggling around on her back, and it does not take long for the baby to notice her.
In the clip shared by @gracyn_deelanie.23, the baby starts out looking at the high-contrast pages before slowly turning his attention toward the black-and-white dog behind them. Soon, he is watching Fyn rather than the book, and even Fyn seems to notice she has become the main attraction.
Baby loses interest in a book as dog moving around steals the show
The baby is lying on his tummy with a vertical Winnie the Pooh contrast book in front of him. During tummy time, babies practice lifting and holding their heads up. All this, while looking at things in front of them, so the book is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. Fyn just happens to be lying behind it.
The Border Collie is on her back, wriggling around on the carpet. Her black-and-white coat also looks quite similar to the high-contrast pictures the baby is supposed to be studying. It does not take long for the dog to distract the baby.
The infant looks away from the book and turns to Fyn instead. At one point, Fyn stops moving completely, and the two of them have a little staring contest. Baby watches the dog, and the dog watches the baby. The little human even shifts himself a few degrees toward her, making it pretty obvious where his attention has gone.
Fyn seems to notice the attention, too. She turns slightly before settling onto her side, leaving the baby with an even better view of her.
The caption jokes, “Save on high contrast cards and get yourself a collie,” and the comments are full of parents who clearly relate. One expecting parent said they had not realized how easy their own black-and-white dog would be for a baby to see. Another parent said their baby prefers watching their black tri Aussie to the contrast books. This sweet baby-and-dog video has already garnered more than 7.1k likes.
