This rescue dog is “misunderstood” because he doesn’t get along well with other dogs and has a habit of playing alone. However, that doesn’t stop him from loving people. Meet Benito, a 3-year-and-11-month-old dog who has spent 76 days at the shelter. Benito was surrendered to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control because he didn’t do well with other dogs.
However, he is just as sweet as any other pup. He loves to play, go for car rides, and spend time with his favorite humans. All he needs is a family that’s patient with him and dedicated to obedience training so that he can grow, thrive, and show everyone the loving dog he truly is.
Rescue dog is misunderstood and all alone for a heartbreaking reason but still loves to play
This rescue dog is highly “misunderstood” simply because he doesn’t get along with other dogs. However, that doesn’t take away from how loving and affectionate he can be. The clip, shared by @lovepupfoundation on Instagram, features a dog named Benito. The video shows him playing and cuddling with his caregiver, giving everyone a glimpse of his sweet personality.
The volunteer explained that because Benito doesn’t get along well with other animals, he is often misunderstood, even though he isn’t incapable of love. In fact, he loves showing affection and forming bonds with the people around him. The video shows Benito happily running around as the caregiver shares that he loves showing off how fast he can run.
He also enjoys playing with his puzzle and enrichment toys. Benito could thrive with a family willing to train him, establish clear boundaries, and give him a consistent routine. While he can be a little stubborn, having structure, patience, and consistency could help him become more confident and thrive in his new environment. Beneath all of that, Benito is simply a gentle and affectionate dog looking for someone willing to understand him.
Viewers came out in support of Benito, with many praying that he finds a forever home soon. Meanwhile, others couldn’t stop complimenting his adorable personality. One user wrote, “Omg what a cutie with so much personality.” Another commented, “precious gift from God so deserving of love.” A third comment read, “He’s so cute.”
